    Description

The Brazil 2 Reais is part of the 2001 banknote series with a pick number P-249a. Banknotes from this series have intaglio symbols printed on the left obverse to help the vision-impaired distinguish between denominations. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition and is TAP authenticated. Its obverse side features the effigy of Republica. On its vertical-oriented reverse side is a Tartaruga Marinha or Eretmochelys imbricata, which is commonly known as a Hawksbill sea turtle, swimming among corals and starfish. The banknotes security elements include a watermark that reflects a sea turtle and electrotype 2 and a registration device that depicts the national emblem with laurels and a star. Printed by the CASA DE MOEDA DO BRASIL, the Brazil 2 Reais is 140 x 65 mm in size and is made of paper.
